1) Do you have the power slotted? I'm at work at the moment. But I think I'm using the wrong role. There is a lot I don't know about this game. And I found that certain roles can't use this power. This is true, right? Yes, certain roles can't use certain passives. Aura of Primal Majesty is restricted to Guardian and Sentinel since it's a support passive. So if you tried to use brawler as people tend to it would de-slot this passive.

Two questions concerning this build and the wiki. www.champions-online-wiki.com/wiki/Lock_N_LoadAccording to this, Two Smoking Barrels negates Lock N Load's bonus damage in melee, which would make it crap on a Heavy Weapons guy like R.E.L.I.C. Can anyone confirm if that's actually a thing that's true or just the wiki being the wiki? www.champions-online-wiki.com/wiki/Form_of_the_TempestSecond, it says here that each level provides additional % chance to get Focus on crit, but the Powerhouse text in the OP screenshot doesn't mention that. That would mean you're only getting energy back from 47.1%*40%=18.84% of your hits. I mean, that IS still huge when you're using Cleave and you're hitting everyone on the planet each time you swing, but there's a big difference between almost 1/2 and almost 1/5 when you're fighting a boss who's all by his lonesome. I'm a Silver, so I can't really test any of this myself with any kind of efficiency.

Two Smoking Barrels reduces the cooldown of Lock 'N' Load every time a melee power is used, which is why this build has it.
Form Of The Tempest always gets a stack, but the chance to get an additional stack on top of that increases with Rank.

I'm a Silver, so I can't really test any of this myself with any kind of efficiency. 1) Lock and Load advantage removes the bonus damage on melee but not the crit buff nor the energy cost discount. That's what Lock and Load was always for in this build, not the bonus damage, so no it's not crap. There is an alternative power pick in ego surge that grants a larger crit buff and bonus damage but it doesn't have a power cost discount and it doesn't have a cooldown reduction advantage meaning it'll be available every 90 seconds where as lock and load can be available much more often. 2) Each increase in rank grants a percent chance to get more than one focus stack per crit. It has no bearing on the chance to get a single focus stack (which is also what procs the energy return). If you have 33% chance to crit then you have a 33% chance to get an energy return and a 33% chance to get at least one focus stack.

Heya, I'm still lvl18 and I'm having a lot of trouble surviving large mobs, as their attacks tend to be harder to dodge (Irradiates were taking me down, which I find weird and unsettling). Because of that, I took out Bountiful Chi and Evasive Maneuvers in favor of Eye of the Storm and Resurgence. Is this viable long term?
(I also took Eye of the Storm because I thought the damage reducction would be useful, and the non-targeting AOE attack was useful against stealthed enemies and bugged untargetable objects I needed for quests.)

That'll be fine long term as long as you don't end up relying on resurgence as your only heal in this build. The primary reason you're having trouble at level 18 is because you don't have a piece of dodge gear at that level. IIRC the first piece of dodge gear shows up in the Level 21-23 range and changes the durability considerably.

So I have been trying this build and it's working pretty well. I did have some issues in the mid-teens with being frail. I fixed this by pushing Annihilate back and getting Evasive Maneuvers and Parry earlier. I took EM at 14, and Parry at 20, though knowing the powers and my playstyle now, I would rather have reversed them. Either way, that helped, since Cleave was still acceptable damage, what I needed was some defense.
Edit: I had thought I saw an improvement, but further testing shows I was just imagining things.

At lvl 25 and still looking for dodge gear. FYI, Dodge gear needs a crafting skill level of around the upper 300s, so it's a bit much to ask a mid-leveler. While its made for some frustrating moments, I can usually take my revenge on the return trip. Mind you, I don't dare enter any team quests.

Is there a listing anywhere about the different type of dodge gear and speciality gear to enhance strength and dexterity (crafting wise). Any help would be appreciated.

Is there a listing anywhere about the different type of dodge gear and speciality gear to enhance strength and dexterity (crafting wise). Any help would be appreciated. The closest thing to a guide that I know of would be knowing what stats your crafting school uses for which slots and then looking at the enhancements. The wiki lists what stats each crafting school uses for which slots. For crafted dodge gear the minor enhancements of your school are used to add stats while the major is used for the dodge itself. At any rate the stat boost on crafted dodge gear is not a terribly significant amount.

Thanks for the quick response. Guess today will be the perfect day to attempt to push Grimlock's crafting skill past 300 and to get some nice shiny blue stuff. Loving the R.E.L.I.C. Build, it was amazing in Resistance with a few deaths but that's just me getting used to the build in 20 minutes of retconning

Added how the build is currently geared to the OP to answer the frequently asked question "how do you gear this build?"
