heh we were talking about an IC retirement party for Sho`Nuff in the Events thread, nice to see it won't be necessary. There's always reason to have cake though. Someone buy him a pocket watch and some bifocals so we can can get that rolling.

Question
On the latest build, why Ego Surge and Emp Heal. I would think enrage and Resurgence/evanescent emergence would have more senergy?

Question On the latest build, why Ego Surge and Emp Heal. I would think enrage and Resurgence/evanescent emergence would have more senergy? The build doesn't need even more enrage maintaining powers, it already has two. Ego Surge is a big damage boost for 15 seconds (29+ crit rate, 93+ crit severity on top of a +50% damage boost) not a power to maintain a buff that roomsweeper and unbreakable w/ better you than me already take care of. Resurgence is a poor heal without a good chunk of CON to scale with and it also has a lengthy cooldown. On earlier builds that had super CON I could get away with that. On the latest build I can't.

Put another variant up and including an answer to a frequently asked question. Gearing.

Had to thank you for your great builds, I am 2 weeks new to CO and have been playing a version of your "Justice" build and having super fun with it ;D
Had a quick question for you though.... since I am pretty newbish I wasn't quite sure what you mean when you label your builds "Not a leveling build". Does this simply mean its not optimized for leveling (like it won't be a fast/easy leveler), or does it mean that you have to respec for it somewhere along the line??
I was asking mainly in reference to your Sho Nuff build, which I thought about trying something similar next (or at the same time, alt-itis is sooooo easy in this game).
Thanks for any responses

Thanks for any responses Both. Not a leveling build means either that A) you will have extreme difficulty and/or frustration trying to play the build in the order the powers are listed due to having certain things missing or B) you have to perform a retcon at level 6 to get rid of your starter power and replace it. It's usually a combination of the two. Example: The second to the last Sho Nuff variant (STR/EGO) has the player leveling to level 8 with nothing but an energy builder and force eruption (a relatively weak AOE). That's not something I'd recommend most people try to do while leveling as it can be tedious, boring and downright frustrating.

did you consider taking Ebon Ruin over Gigabolt? Damage get's up to 1368 at R3 with Nyctophobia and still adds the desired Dimensional damage dot. Also, has much lower energy consumption and charge up time.

I have to say, this STR/EGO build is good Kenpo (Considering I don't have optimal gear nowhere near yours). Good thing I had a free retrain on one of my old 32 silver toons. Question is does this build survive enough? or can it take the whole leveling process to 40 by itself (i started this at level 32).
Another is that, does this variation of Sho Nuff, do PVP/Duels? and generally, how good is it at that.
NOT LEAVING THE POWERHOUSE until you answer. Thanks

Casual duels it'll do OK, in PvP it's suicide. Too many things missing (hold breaker, crip challenge, quick spike damage, etc.) and too reliant on absorbing hits for energy.

Serpent Lantern on Elite - fighting Freon (2nd bunker boss) over and over. A fair few elite scaled blue items do make it into the AH but they can be tricky to spot. Silvers without serpent lantern should be able to farm areas of Aftershocks on elite for similar gear.

A fair few elite scaled blue items do make it into the AH but they can be tricky to spot. Normally there are masses of them in the AH, its only a little tricky to find the best, but normally with level 40 i had to spent maybe 150-200g to have solid elite gear Of course i never look for items that have only 1 stat just to push my superstats through the roof, but i prefer a good mix of items 2 or 3 stats where you can even have +39 total stat points But yeah .. for farming yourself Freon is the way to go, since he drops always 2 identically items, and not just one.

Shhh, if you give away ALL the 'Legendary' AH buyer secrets it'll be harder for us to find the best gear on the cheap!
