Saga Venefica comes from a family of mystics. Having been trained since childhood she is extremely skilled in the magical arts with a preference for conjuration and summoning of sentient beings from various planes of existence.
The charm around her neck is thought to be a source of her power but it is not. It's a common necklace she illuminates with her power as a distraction.
She also possess an immunity to poisons. As a result of a shift in how Venefica usually operate her...ahem..."touch" has healing instead of killing properties.
A core member of S.EC.R.E.T. Alpha (formerly known simply as S.E.C.R.E.T.), Saga took the task of forming a splinter team when the task of protecting the world proved taxing to accomplish from one base of operations in the Americas. Establishing a foothold in the UK, S.E.C.R.E.T. members Saga Venefica, Angela Gabriel, Flamehawk, Full Metal Jacket and Mr. Hoodoo branched off to form S.E.C.R.E.T. Omega.
Prior to her expanded duties Saga was a devoted and relentless support member of the Sho Nuff squad within S.E.C.R.E.T. She frequently lent her abilities to help the team in the field.
Where as Sho Nuff subscribes to the philosophy that he can best serve the team as army of one, Saga follows the belief that she can best serve the team by bringing an army with her whenever she arrives on the scene. Saga's abilities to conjure various creatures from different planes of existence (rumors persist that some are from hell itself) have shown that when Saga comes in as back up she doesn't bring 1 more problem for the villians, she brings 17 more.
Whether running missions on her own or with the team Saga has shown herself to be a confident and more than competent field commander willing to mix it up directly when necessary.
When Saga isn't managing operations in the Eastern Hemisphere she can usually be found working on her supporting, summoning and defensive skills in a Champions Battestation Testing Facility. It's easy to to take out forces for 5 heroes when you bring an army of 16 conjurations and yourself to the battle. With those kind of odds, Saga can draw a line in the sand in dare the enemy to cross it because she isn't moving...but Saga prefers to draw a circle...or two...or several.
