Anyone that has played The Secret World may know this already, but The Secret World Legends head start is going on right now with the regular release happening in a couple of days.
It's practically the exact same game as The Secret World, but given a massive overhaul to make the combat somewhat more like Neverwinter or Tera. All of the game's content is fully available to everyone and nobody has to pay a dime to play it. Yup, it's entirely F2P.
It's also it's own game. TSW and TSW Legends are separate games that have the same content as one another. That's not confusing at all!
Having played some of the original game I can tell you firsthand that the change to the combat controls are much improved. That said, there is some streamlining that was done to the AP and SP system that simplifies your choices. Any MMO veterans out there know that streamlining usually ends up meaning less choices to make and, usually, less customization of abilities. So far, the streamlining done to this game that I've seen has been minimal as far as abilities go.
It does appear that crafting has been removed entirely and I have noticed the quest chains have been moved around a bit to "flow" better.
The Agartha got a big redesign! Practically all of the walkways were removed in favor of shortening everything down to just the portals and jump pads to get to them.
If you have a TSW account, you can link it to TSW Legends to unlock whatever vanity items you have on the original game and make them available on the new one. Any funcom points on your regular TSW account may transfer over to TSW Legends as Aurum. Not sure what the cash shop is like on TSWL but so far I've not come across the need to use it yet.
For those interested, check their FAQ here.
If there's enough interest we can see about forming our own Cabal.
