So I been LTS for a year now, finally decided to give the PTS a try. The roadblock before was I actually had problems applying for permissions (because I'm in one of them Region Blocked areas, but got past the issue with the grandfather clause thing you guys helped me with). Now I got some questions:
- if I delete a character on PTS, does it get deleted on Live?
- if I take something out of my Hideout in PTS, what happens to THAT in Live?
- where do I get all the cool new stuff to test? I found some at the Auction House
I think I know some of the answers to these, but I want to make doubly sure 1st. Thanks.

No, you'll just be deleting a copy not the actual character.
Nothing, you'll just be moving copied items not the actual items.
Look for the guy with the bug head outside of the powerhouse portal in the middle of RenCen.

Yeah, everything you copy over is just a copy; you can do whatever you want with it without affecting live at all. On another note; I saw that massively was posting about the cryptic folks posting something on the STO forum about how much budget that each game had, and noting that CO had next to nothing, does anyone have that post? I wasn't able to find it since they moved the forums.

Thanks, feeling a lot more confident about experimenting now.
I did discover the Shared Bank in the Hideout from Live doesn't seem to appear in PTS. No problemo, I'll just have an experimental character hold them, then copy, then use them in the PTS.
Regarding the post, I know the MassivelyOP post you're talking about, with the broken link. However, IIRC, they never posted the actual dollar figures. Again, IIRC, it wasn't even something like a number of Devs, as I recall some journalist/posters actually extrapolated the figures based on layoff figures. What WAS mentioned was Dev Tumerboy's post about how development budgets were directly related to amount spent in the game, and that's I think the articles are referencing (although that URL is still borked).
