The New Wiki refers to our board as Non-Perfect - We worked so hard to make this PWF useful and friendly. I'll - I'll be alright. Okay, just the silly thought that passed through my mind when I spotted the Non-Perfectin the link. Other than that, I don't remember any guides or threads about any games other than Champions Online. I'm sure there's the odd STO thread but also several other discussions about non-PW games. Are there Guides for any other PWF games that I do not know about?

Should actually be "Not Perfect World", since that's what the NPW at the forum top stands for. And no, this has always been a CO forum aside from whatever other game banter we do in off topic. No actual guides or anything like that.

Oh, no offense intended. I'll correct that. I thought it was non, since: www.google.com/search?q=non+defineI tried to find what the NPW stood for, and that was the best I was able to track down. I linked to y'all since you've been on the forefront of info for this game. I meant it as a compliment, I lurk here a ton.

It's my weird, learning disable, brain that TRIED and FAILED to make a joke at how odd the Non[dash]Perfect look with World sitting out there as if it had nothing to do with the rest. And then I took that up to a level of exaggerated (and totally fake) hurt feelings at the idea and "Why? Why would you feel the need to point out our imperfectness. LEAVE NPW ALONE!" ( mascara runs down our cheeks ) Probably something ONLY I saw. Just a quirk of my brain versus the oddities of the English Language. Obviously, IRL I AM thoroughly imperfect or that joke would have landed better. As for the fact the we go by NPW Forums, I never really understood that change since we continue to be a forum that mainly focuses on Champions Online (when we're not posting off-topic nonsense). Maybe there were plans, at one time, to expand and include other or all PWI games that I am unaware of. { shrug }

Gather 'round and listen to the story of why we are now called the "NPW" forums!
We need to go back in time. Back to when PWE was still in the process of converting Cryptic into their subsidiary. We go back to a dark and scary time...The Great Forum Merge in 2012!
During this time, the main forums were separate from the rest of the PWE forum system. Cryptic had superior forum software in place that gave us the ability to manage our friend lists and other things in game while we were on the forums. We had useful things like a working report button and other niceties. And then The Great Forum Merge happened.
PWE, in an attempt to assimilate Cryptic's systems as their own (resistance was futile), decided to merge the main forums of both CO and STO into the PWE forum system. Many of us lost our usernames. Posts were lost to the "Archived Post". Custom avatars were taken from us. Friend list management outside of the game was struck down. The report button was smote from existence. There was much weeping and gnashing of teeth. It was a dark time, a terrible time. Until a hero arose...
The man only known as "The Grand Nagus" saw these evils happening from the shadows.
He had already prepared these forums back in an earlier time when CO first went F2P under the name of "Champions Online Free Forums". Free players could not post on the main forums back then, so he created these so that we F2P players could have a place to call our home and post freely. Knowing that the people had now been robbed and exploited by their new overlords, he acted.
In a single mighty stroke, he re-branded the CO Free Forums as the "Not Perfect World forums". He then took to the main forums, awash in it's agony, and showed the great light of NPW to the masses. He capitalized on the fact that we were indeed "Not Perfect World". It turned out to be an efficient maneuver. During the short time following The Great Forum Merge, these re-branded forums surged in popularity as people abandoned the new and gutted main forums.
Eventually, PWE relented and gave the people their custom avatars back. However, the other damages that were inflicted on that dark day still remain even as we speak now.
Sadly, Champs has effectively been placed into maintenance mode which has caused both the main forums as well as this one to largely fall in population to the small handful of us who just can't seem to let go. Maybe the battle is too far engraved into us to ever fully leave this place...who can say?
And that, my good fellows, is the story of how the NPW came to exist.
(This has been an overly dramatic response to Zed's question as to why our name was changed as presented by Lantesh.)

You should take that entire post and put it in it's own thread and call it The History of the NPW. btw - In order to be overly dramatic you need to use more dramatic Font Face and Font Sizes. How else can people tell
that
you
are
over
do
ing
it!!!

I thought about that, but I figured it would be too Shatner-esque for what I was going for.
