I might try out Guild Wars 2 after the CO anniversary event is finally finished. Meanwhile: This weekend in CO: Free UNTIL Shuttle - looks like those large spacecraft, but with the grey-blue Free Cyborg Beast costume set - the mecha-dragon one, with the mecha wings, legs, claws, etc. There will be a NPC in-game to get this stuff, this weekend only. It looks like they're repeating this giveaway this weekend. Also this weekend, Mechanon's attacking Champions HQ, lots of swag.

Hi Lantesh, with just 60 Lobi, what's the best usage please?
Should we save them, wait until max level, then exchange them for one of those ground weapons? Or should we get the ground weapon ASAP if it scales with our level?

The ground weapons got beefed up a bit in the recent expansion launch. They used to be pretty bad, but this isn't the case anymore. These weapons can also be upgraded with the new crafting upgrade system. So these weapons can be very nice right now, especially if you like them for thematic reasons. The Undine wrist lance is quite a beast. These weapons do scale with your level, so you don't need to wait until you hit max level to use them. Do note though that lobi weapons are single character unlocks only, so you can only use it on the character you buy it on.
I do own several lobi weapons and they are quite nice, but they aren't super badass weapons that surpass everything else. These are more for thematic reasons than anything else. Performance wise, you can go buy nice gun that matches them off the exchange for like 100k EC. That said, they do work well and they do look cool. I would label these as "cool to have" rather than a "must have".
You can save them up, but what I'm seeing is that Cryptic is slowly winding down the amounts of free lobi they give away. The first giveaway was 500 lobi. The second giveaway was 200, and now the third giveaway (the one currently going on) is down to 60. So saving up the free lobi you get from now on for higher priced items isn't all that effective anymore.
You can also spend them on vanity pets if that's your thing. Pets go for 30 lobi a piece, so you can pick up 2 pets of your choice. Personally I bought a bunch of cats (because I'm a cat guy) and love watching them follow me around while I romp all over the Delta Quadrant. They don't do anything other than look cute though. You can buy a baby raptor (yes, raptor as in dinosaur) pet if you want a tougher looking one. Pets are also bound to single character once you unpack them. Alternatively, you can sell the pets on the exchange. I sold 2 common cats for around 800k each, one rare cat for 3 million, and a super rare cat for 8 million.
Don't bother wasting lobi on the consumables in the shop. They're just a waste.
My personal recommendation would be either a gun or a pet if you want to spend it right now. Since 60 lobi is a very small amount, you might as well spend it for some nice thematic items.

Lantesh, I forgot to reply earlier, but thanks for the advice. I was playing on and off and have reached level 50, still holding on to the Lobi. I'm either going for a gun or a pet to sell, if they're fetching 800k each.

Meanwhile, this may be unbelievable, but EA's Origin game loader is actually giving away another free game.
This time, it's an old DOS game, Crusader: No Remorse. By the same guys that did Ultima (if you recall, they were a decent game company called Origin), but you're like a Space Marine instead of the Avatar of Virtue. I'm pretty pumped because this was one of those PC games I was very curious about as a kid, but was always on the fence about buying because back then I played a lot of Doom-clones.
Funny thing, EA actually uses DOSbox to load this game, basically a DOS emulator used for semi-pirated abandonware games.

Defiance is now Free to Play on Xbox 360. Even if you don't own the physical disc you can still download it to your console and play. Just make sure you've got 5 GB of free space on your HDD.

Landmark Closed Beta keys: www.zam.com/story.html?story=35428It's been getting some buzz around the MMOsphere, so I thought I'd put it up for anyone interested. Edit: It appears to be a 7 day access key only and not a full Beta key. Eh, oh well. It's still there for anyone who wants to try it out.

So here's something random that I came across. Apparently, this past Monday, a non-profit internet library posted up over 2,300 classic MS-DOS games...for free. And it seems to be legal. archive.org/details/softwarelibrary_msdos_games/v2It seems that it's technically in a beta state so there may be problems running some of the games. But man, that's a lot of free games lol.

Speaking of, Sim City 2000, my favourite of the series, is still on Origins for free.
I installed Origins, basically EA's version of Steam, to play Dragon Age, noticed Sim City 2000 as a limited time offer.
