I got two R9 280X cards in Crossfire and somehow I'm getting less FPS than when I do it with a single card (with either of the two) and there seems to be a HUGE amount of people up there with the same problem as me and so far no solutions found, can anyone help?

Excellent response tower, you are simply awesome. The things in this article are definitely on my list of things to try especially because the poster claimed he solved the problem. Though the deal with him is that he was having that issue just in BF4 while I'm having it in ALL games. I will still do what he said and for whoever is wondering what the recommendation was on that article and don't want to read the whole thing here it is, "I am running Crossfire R9 280X's and dealt with major fps drop when enabling crossfire. However when I had it disabled (when I had the game running on one GPU) I would get almost always 60fps on ultra (with AA). After some research, in fact a lot of research I fixed this problem by disabling frame pacing and enabling fullscreen in game. I was running the game on borderless the whole time and this was the cause of my problem. What borderless and windowed do is they mess with your crossfire settings. It gives one GPU (in my case GPU 2) all the work but lets the other one spike up and down inconsistently. Mine would frequently drop to 30% load then back up to around 60% load (I checked the load using MSI afterburner and EVGA Precision X)." Frame pacing! I would have never thought of that one, I disabled ULPS, and I'm also going to try to use Radeon Pro thanks to this article; www.tomshardware.co.uk/radeon-hd-7990-devil13-7970-x2,review-32563-11.html to deal with micro stuttering but the frame pacing approach was a totally new one. I need to go to work in a little while so I won't be able to try any of this approaches right now but I will definitely be on top of this when I come back and will report back here with the results. It's worth mentioning I went back to the store and replaced the Graphics Card to eliminated a damaged VGA as a possible culprit. Also worth mentioning that Crossfire doesn't work on window mode on any game and that all the games I play are in fullscreen mode. Thanks a million man you rock!!!!!!

It turns out that my beloved XFX R9 280x was actually malfunctioning, and that I actually returned the wrong card to the store (the MSI R9 280x) which was NOT the problem. With this new info I now know that the problems with Crossfirex I was having, although real, can't be properly accessed till I get a replacement for the XFX card and start running test again. Man what a disappointment, I really thought that card was awesome. I'm running my rig now with the MSI card I got as replacement for the 1st card I returned, and will try to see how I get into shipping the XFX card to their factory for replacement, assuming they want to replace the card at all. So far it looks like I wasted $400 on this card!
In the other hand I'm loving the MSI R9 280x which is doing it all for me right now, so I think if you are into AMD cards like me, there are two brands out there that are really worth your money and that is MSI and Sapphire, and I'm thinking of getting me another one of those MSI cards to cover for the loss, and I'm even considering getting me an R9 290x Sapphire Vapor to upgrade from the 280x series. I guess I'll have to decide which way to go with this.
