A Rampage Revamp came out last week and we've been awfully quiet about it. I don't know if Rampages are the best thing ever, the thing to save CO. I can say I'm running into a lot of people in these Rampages, it's a fun time at least for me. I play them even if I've gotten all the Rampage rewards I wanted.
ATs are mostly fine. Overall, Ranged is better than Melee because you need mobility in most Rampages. The Tank ATs, lacking a self-heal, need a Healer or just be careful whom they pick a fight with. Vehicles help when they're available, but are not necessary. Even in PUGs, success rates are high now.

Really? I hadn't tried out the new Rampages since the revamp, and I rarely ran Gravitar before the revamp because, as a Silver with no FF slots, all I've got for Rampages is my Tempest, who is incredibly squishy.

Tried it, but with no luck with gear tokens it's pointless for me.
RNG killed this update for me. IMHO Cryptic managed to find a way to fail again. Not surprising. Some companies are beyond any hope.
I see no pleasure or fun in running content with no reward. Especially poor, broken content that should be reworked from the scratch, like Gravitar.
If Cryptic really expects people grinding tokens only to acquire right for buying drifter's salvage for gear... They're even more out of touch with reality than I thought.
I don't know who's managing CO, but it looks like a dumpster for people rejected at managing NW or STO.

I managed to get almost 2 complete sets so far, I'm missing one diamond, and two scales. I'll pick that diamond up next time it comes along. Still working on those scales. This is VERY alt friendly. Once a character score/rotation, the odds of them getting another token are very low. So people with mad alts will have a high chance.
The gear made a pretty big difference. At least for my one char, I only managed to get 2 pieces on the other cuz I missed the last diamond(I blame that broken thursday when nothing was dropping for the shortcoming). But the drop rates are pretty low. I think I ran F & I 250 times, Sky command was easy, but it was broken, next time it'll be fixed with poor drops. Grav was rough, managed 11 even with the loss of a day with about 300 runs. LI I'm at about 100 runs now. I'm tired though, can't wait to catch up on some sleep.

We've played all 4 Rampages regularly now: Fire & Ice, Sky Command, Gravitar, Lemurian Invasion. All of these gave me a bad impression at 1st, but this time around, I really enjoyed all of them greatly. It's been more fun than Alerts, but not sure how long this feeling will last.
1st things 1st, there is a chat channel, Rampagers, for this. They organise teams here so you can tag along with some Vets. Most of the guys there are just old-hands happy to put a team together (as sometimes it's hard to get a full group of 10, so you should find a space).
The benefit is, if you haven't done Rampages yet, there's enough people there to give you space to learn the ropes. The biggest problem is when, you're starting out, you don't know what you can do, how much you can do. So there's that resource to help you get started.
Interesting thing about the Random Number Generator nature of CO, like lockboxes. I always thought it was a PWE thing. PWE is a Chinese company, Chinese love gambling, so much so it's insanely regulated in China. It turns out even in-game lockboxes are quite illegal in Chinese law.
(Yes, even the Chinese Communist Party banned lockboxes as they thought it was such a bad idea.)
I've seen myself and heard from others the Rampages are actually quite friendly to Ranged ATs and Healer ATs with the exception of Gravitar. Again, Gravitar is just too random, it's about strategy or skill. There is a safe sniping spot for her, though, if you got a 120 foot attack.

I think i should probably start doing some rampages more often now, i haven't done any yet so now will be a good time to start, i've started logging in again a bit more frequently and looking to farm more questionite, am i right in thinking that questionite is a reward or a drop from Rampages?

rampages 108 x 0 tokens I have not played CO seriously for about 2 months. I always liked the Lemurian Invasion, too bad what everyone want now is to rush to the big boss. This rampage would be cool if there was a safe height, eg. enemy anti-aircraft batteries, so to be able to face the boss, the landing party must destroy these batteries I believe Gravitar was broken. I got exactly 392 questionites in 28 runs... *sigh* long time when she used to give me 9K per run, at least worth face plant for their 18K dmg Force Detonations... Did Sky Command 1 time when first came and 2 times with revamp. Failed the last 2. It is fun to pug with a group that has no idea you're doing, myself included I have not done F&I yet but hope it's fun.

Andy, yes, they absolutely drop Q. Xstorm is right, huge diminish returns after the 1st or 2nd run per day per character. Usually on the 1st run, I get like 1500 Q. Then on the 2nd, I get 700 Q. IMHO, for my daily dose of Q, Rampages are more fun and rewarding than Alerts, plus you get costume/aura unlocks. However, we may all tire of Rampages.
Plinske, in Fire and Ice, stay away from the Ice guy until you learn the ropes! My 1st Rampage after the Revamp, I charged Bloodbath at him, then found out later he's really not who you want to charge at unless you have a Freeform Tank and a Healer backing you. After that, I hadn't failed a single Rampage; closest I got was losing 1 engine in SC.
My secret? I wait until Xstorm or another uber-elite player invites me. They always have the best teams.

Marvelous, i'll be doing some rampages in the future, actually next time i'm on i would love to join up with you and Xstorm for a couple of rounds if you'll take me ? I know i have both of you on my friends list, just depends on when we are all on at the same time.

Look like PUG qeue F&I is a instant fail lol. What surprises me most is how players do not learn from previous mistakes, doing the same thing over and over even when told in team chat. This or, knowing my luck, I have pugged with the dumbest people of CO. Now a question: when you are flying, the fire bomb indicate you left the circle? I had so many wipes but nobody was able to answer accurately if it affects or not the bomb. On a side note: my first token dropped friday in Sky Command. So the score now indicates something like 150 x 1 ... {{stopped counting after the 10th fail in F&I}}

Unfortunatley i couldn't tell you Plinske as i haven't used flight in Fire And Ice yet, i have tended to stick to the ground and moved around a little bit when the *censored* hits the fan, mostly using acrobatics or some ground related travel power. I have to say that Sky Command is my least favourite rampage, it is fairly easy i suppose but when you don't have a vehicle its a pain trying to fly around especially on those flying disks and by the time you've targeted an enemy someone has already cleaned up using their vehicle, i feel like i haven't done anything throughout the whole instance I also tried Gravitar for the first time yesterday for a couple of runs and it didn't go quite as badly as i thought it would, only died 2 or 3 times and i pretty much followed what Joh advised in the other post, its quite easy once you follow those tips and remember to block quite a bit.

Hey Andy! In the next F&I rotation i'll be grounded just in case In Sky Command a vehicle helps immensely, mainly if your team have 4/10 with gravity pulse {the non-target AoE have what? 100ft?!}} it means a instant success even pugging. If you do not own a vehicle, i suggest to keep at Ventilation Scoop, the mobs here come closer making killing them easier, let the vehicles take the enemies at engines. If you have a healing power you can venture at engines too when the Mega-D come, if you are a healer just move to under the carrier, between the engines and keep them intacts 2-3 vehicles take care of the skirmishes and the rest go after the Mega-D Gravitar is heavily heavily dependent on team. Two runs that occurred last night portray it: on the first run my team had exactly 4 players in tank role and team 2, which was only 3 ppl, had 2 in tank role. Although we can drop her health to 2 bars, without ressurections, only me and another tank left, but her non-stop cascades (1.5k ~ 2k) were above what I could heal. The last player resisted a good 5 minutes, but also healing more than hitting her. Fail. The second run looked like an instant fail. Only 1 other player on my team and 3 on the team 2 ... as the guys jumped on her I go ahead. I was the only melee in the group but this time we had suports roles, probably someone with heal over time, enough to keep me at full health the entire fight. Survived 3 yellows bubbles and I could not block one on time: D. As a balanced group makes difference! Nonetheless I still with only 1 token

As a ranged dps freeform with tanky complex, i never had problems with gravitar. Usually i finish her without problems. Carrier wave and lemurian are usually easy too. Fire and ice, tough... I never, EVER finished one. Usually, its a wipe sequence and me crying faceplanted. Is there someplace with a guide to fire and ice?
Plinskebro, dont give up. I have only one token too.

So, we're near the end of round three of the rotations. Sky Command has become unbearable for me. I have 7 bearings left over after getting my two sets, but I can't really stomach that alert anymore. F & I, I have 12 tokens left over, that one is pretty easy with a carefully selected team; don't PUG it, instant fail 99% of the time. Waiting to test LI with the updated vehicles, I expect a massive slowdown. It's going to be unbearable here as well.
So in about 1000 runs total of all four, I came out with 24 Hypercooled ignimbrites, 19 Destreum Bearings, 27 Superdense Diamonds, and 19 Petrified Scales.

Yeah, some very quick updates. Players are getting better at these now:
Sky Command - people have Gravity Pulse Vehicles, no problem, very PUG-able
Lemurian Invasion - Gravity Pulse, then Plasma Beam, also very PUG-able
Gravitar - definitely want a Support guy to Heal or Buff, but IMHO PUG-able now
Fire & Ice - totally NOT PUG-able, oh my god, at least for now. Here's just my view on what is needed in a team, it's like separate work tracks:
1. A group to Tank Frosticus - might be just an uber-Tank with a good Healer
2. An AoE guy - to take care of Living Fire/Ice effects, just spam AoE
3. Everyone else doing DPS - sometimes need to Rez each other
P.S. There is an exploit to snipe Frosty from 120 ft, but that'll be patched
---
What's changed is players, you, me, others, are all getting better, learning from past experiences in Rampages, now that more are playing these. I play on average about 3 per day, thankfully I'm not quite burnt out. I'm playing for fun, I like these big fights, but not so much the Cutscenes for Lemurian Invasion in particular.
Regarding Rampage Rewards, it's been about a month, so maybe I did around 100+? I basically got 10 of those Tokens, plus a bunch of costume pieces, auras, etc.
