I need to add a little something to this but don't think the Guide itself should be the place. Hopefully people looking at this thread will read more posts. Anyway there's currently a lag issue with Gravitar's bubbles. May not happen to everyone but it was brought to my attention and I have suffered from it more than once. Basically there's a delay between the explosion animation and the effect. However it's not as advantageous as it sounds (if you see a lightning you know the thunder is close by so you're ready right?) it doesn't work like the lightning thing. Let's say she puts a bubble on you and you run (as in just running your pants off and not blocking) and you're so far that your energy builder is grayed out yet you still die. There's a delay or lag however you want to call it that can kill you that way, the game "thinks" you're still in range so it does the damage and since you weren't blocking... well Gravitar doesn't hold back.

Typical lag issues in MMO, that's why after the 1/3 mark, whenever you see the hold bubble, move a distance away where your attacks are still within range. Gives you some leeway and reaction time to get out of the yellow bubble easily.

It's been a while since I had to add morons to my ignore list. First off, it's not the first time I've seen this guy Eternity Reaver refuse to wait for people to load and lock out players.
But, he had to bring his impatient friend, 1000 Year Old Knight along and lock out players twice in a row on a night I'm playing gravitar with friends.
Being confident in your build is one thing, depriving others of the enjoyment they spent time queuing for is another.
I was mad, and wanted to see just how egotistic these guys can be, so I sat out of the alert. Most of the other players wiped early, the 2 of them persisted till the last third before faceplanting. Their ego would have failed the alert and wasted everyone's time, had I not pitched in and won it then.
And before you argue I could have helped sped things along or shared the aggro so these 2 guys didn't wipe, so could the players they keep locking out. One of them could also possibly be a rezzer that could have prevented the wipe in the first place.

Agreed completely and what I've been doing lately is just leave the map when the rushers lock half the team out. I do keep an eye out 'cause the team bug is persistent and not everyone is smart enough to figure out why is the alert kicking them out once they get in. (answer for those that still don't know, you need a FULL team or no team at all to stay in the rampage alert) A couple of nights ago there were only 6 inside the active zone but that's 'cause the alert kicked the other 4 from queue. Nobody was locked.
Could be a good idea to post the name of rushers, I usually avoid that kind of thing but it does get annoying fast if you're trying to have some fun. And Gravitar is a lot of fun when we are with the usual suspects from the Q4Gravitar channel.

Some of these deliberate repeat offenders deserve to be shamed. They are not newbs, some even are from reputable SGs. But they cannot be bothered to behave in a considerate manner.
My friends loaded into the third gravitar without me and was locked out as well and left. I skipped a gravitar hoping not to run into those idiots again.
I did run into a team of 3 that got kicked and was clueless about it last night too, I sent them a tell and they loaded in the next gravitar just fine. This is a bug and in no way their fault honestly.

ROLESArchetypesYou are about to go through hell. If you're melee you're pretty much done for, you can't take on Gravitar and survive without a dedicated support. But if you want to land a couple of hits, do a hit and run, especially when she uses Gravity Well. Since she's pulling you in, running towards her makes you go faster, land a couple of hits and get out before she uses an attack on you. Range Archetypes have a better chance but will have to take cover a lot to heal. Even with consumables the cooldown is too high to keep you going. I haven't been on since September, so I'm not sure whether Gravitar got her teeth kicked in by the Nerf Bat, or if they buffed some powersets, but since I came back to the game in December, I have been able to tank Gravitar on my Master with no need for Support Healers. My Master follows Tammy's build, with a minor tweak or two in some specs. and a Sentinel's Brooch for extra BCR healing, and be cautious to block with BCR active whenever Hp gets close to half. Just wanted to apport this data

You know why? My Master follows Tammy's build That's why. ATs can do well enough if you're skilled and/or have a good build. I sometimes go in with my soldier, marksman and inferno.

I would like to contribute something else to this guide from something I've been experiencing lately.
Sometimes people die. And sometimes they are lucky enough that the attack that killed them knocks them back a considerable amount, making it easier for healers to rez that person. So pay attention to this things! If you see a dead team member don't go and stand right next to his body. Chances are Gravitar will volley a couple of Force Cascade's, or worse a Bubble, in your direction. And now, you also got the healer killed for deciding to stand right next to the dead team member they were trying to resurrect.

Longtime creeper, first time poster some additional trivial things i'd like to add if you're a melee and theres a pet summoner in the rampage alert...my ability to shield/heal you decreases exponentially (since my go to "tab" key (target closest ally) dun work and half the time if i use my mouse to click ya, i end up clickin the pets). I aint blamin them pet summoners cuz I had one too but...I thought I'd just make it known that they make a healer's life hell so if I aint healin you as often and you're dying a lot, somethin's up.
Oh! also, sometimes (rarely) I won't be able to find your lifeless body. If i havent come to your rescue after...about a minute, kindly shout in zone chat and describe to me the location of your carcass (ie. im on the third floor on top of the building beside the fountain, etc). It's happened 2-3 times to me where I just...couldn't find the body for some odd reason and the person, without saying one word, just gives up and hits recover...or they hit recover just as i try to revive them...have some patience please! If I aint rezzing/healing/shielding, somethin's up (I'm busy healin tank, half way through rezzing someone, busy healin myself)
Also, I cannot stress this enough (and I'm pretty sure either the OP, tammy, or one of you guys mentioned it). if Gravy's down to 1/3 bar and she's got a bubble locked on you and you decide to book it....don't come near me. I can't count the number of times when I'm half way through rezzing a range DPSer who got Force Cascade-ed and all of a sudden BAM bubble locked and vaporized via the orange dome of death.
and also...please dont try to leech gravitar...dont assume we aint aware you're hiding in the corner leechin...as a healer who's running around constantly searching for dead bodies, I see you and I will call you out on it. (if you're a tank and you're reading this, please, if you see a leecher, bring the fight to the leecher so gravy can nuke his/her butt)
and last but not least...do NOT recover. I shout it out at the beginning of every battle but there will always be one idiot out of 5-6 gravy alert that hits recover immediately after dying...

Very nice work, this post is very helpfull. I would have liked to have all those tips in my 1rst Gravitar. Some coments: - I like to fly high when the buble follows me, it is the easiest way to take the buble with me and avoid catching anybody else inside. - as Joh sayed do not run as crazy because it becomes really hard to target you if you need a heal or preventive bubble, remember not all the players appear in the team, so it is very possible that the support can not target you clicking in your portrait. Considering this part: Another important thing to never do is spam the help me button. That annoys the hell out of everyone and chances are you will be ignored. Also chatting in team is a little bit distracting so keep it to a minimum, use zone chat. This depends on everyrezzer, I prefer players to spam* the "help me button" the bubble over the character helps to find bodies, another helping thing is saying "thx" "i m up" or whatever after you are rezzed, because it ll make the other rezzers stop looking for your body. If it takes time and you are not rezzed specially if you are in a weird or hidden place type where your body is. * spam = click every 3 or 5 seconds, not smashing

There is one reason to recover. If you've got a teleport to team member; you can use that to get out've the lockout.

Other random tips: (playing as support)
-Gravity well is a great opportunity for summons/heals/etc. If you have a flying power, fly upward and you'll easily be out of range of any bubbles (a "gravity slingshot"). Great for support builds.
-If I don't see you dead (particularly if you're in "the other team"), press the "help button" once. It's preferable that you die far away from Gravitar, as opposed to next to her feet.
-Targeting gravitar once then spamming your healing power (if it's not rebuke or something similar) *should* select and heal the tank, without having to click on friendlies. Test it out on smash alerts first to get a feel for it.
-If you're tank, please try to not move (unless yellow bubble of death or such). It makes positioning support so much easier.
