In advance im sorry if I have posted this in the wrong place, forgive my noobiness. Ok, I was looking at some random youtube videos and I saw someone with a Dual pistol build and it looked pretty sweet! I would pay to have an archtype like that for my 2nd character. www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzvyCykQacM&feature=relatedAnd now, your comments please ^_^

The Specialist gets 4 out of the 5 attacking powers that character is using.

Yeah but the specialist is a mix between Melee and ranged. I thought it be cool to get a dual gun toting ranged dps. I kinda dont like Melee much in any mmo xD

I kinda dont like Melee much in any mmo xD Looking at the Specialist AT, it has all of the dual pistol attacks in the game and is only missing the backflip in that vid that comes from Archery. I know it's preference but given that you can skip the tutorial to level 6 you don't even have to use the melee abilities in the specialist (although the bullet beatdown is a blend of ranged and melee that kicks major butt). Question: Given that it has all the dual pistol attacks, what is it that you would want that isn't in the Specialist AT? What other powers are you interested in...besides Evasive Maneuvers.

So if I went with specialist, would it be able to hold its own using only the dual pistol skills? Also, when I get a chance, im going to look into alot of the other skills this game has to offer and answer that question later... maybe tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure The Specislist also doesn't have Breakaway Shot, but that's not a very good power anyway.

Yes it would. Two gun mojo would handle your ranged single targets, Lead Tempest is an insanely good AOE, Bullet Ballet will be your go to move in tough fights (I know you hate melee but this is only kinda melee and with the advantage becomes an AOE in its own right. I'm pretty sure The Specislist also doesn't have Breakaway Shot, but that's not a very good power anyway. Good call (though I like Breakaway shot). The spread on that always makes me think SMG and forget it's pistols.

I'm pretty sure The Specislist also doesn't have Breakaway Shot, but that's not a very good power anyway. Well, it used to suck. It's been much improved, though. I've seen player critting for over 3k with it (in a cone, no less). It also has no cooldown and lunges further than Evasive Maneuvers. Most importantly, it now only keeps you grounded for a fraction of a second.

I use it on my pistols toon, and I love it, but The Specialist doesn't really need it.

I will add twin swords are not horrible you can hit up to five enemies if in front in an arc of death even starting out, if you start your attack smart its a benefit. I found using dual pistols and swords fast as needed makes for a dangerous AT with some gear you can learn to make.

Yep like everyone is saying. Go Specialist. If you want fancy back-flips, take Acrobatics as a TP lol.
