There are some basic questions that can be fairly easily overlooked in the process of putting together a character in CO. I shall update this thread as more occur to me. If some of what I mention here is obvious to you, please dont be offended. Something that you immediately grasp may be missed by someone else. Also, please feel free to add your own observations here.
Each power advantage or rank costs a certain number of advantage points. The maximum number of advantage points that can be spent on a single power is 5. If you have the advantage points available to spend on a power, but the game wont let you buy that next rank, or cool sounding advantage, you have probably already maxed out the power.
Presence Increases the effectiveness of healing powers (with some very few exceptions such as Bionic Shielding and Regeneration)
Healing, including Regeneration, causes threat.
The benefit of your stats is affected by a diminishing returns model. This means that specializing in just one or two stats by sacrificing everything else is an inefficient way of building a character. You should definately build your superstats up into the 200-250 range (by max level), but pushing them beyond about 225 will generally yield much less than you wold gain by using your gear/talents to boost a third and/or fourth stat.
In general I push my Super Stats until I get about 30-32% damage bonus, and then focus on two other stats.
Each Talent can only be taken once, so its a good idea to find a combination of talents that together boost three or four of the stats that aremost important to your build.
In general repeated tapping of an attack that allows for a charge is higher DPS than a full charge. Tap spamming is less energy efficient, but if you are having no problems with energy keep in mind the benefits of tapping. Using your charge up to act as an alpha strike to start a fight off, or to apply some secondary effect (such as sonic arrow's stun) is a great use of the charge, often followed by tap spamming to finish off stragglers.
Henchmen, even those significantly lower than you in level are capable of hurting you, a lot. It is generally a good idea to drop a big AoE attack to clear out the henchmen before moving on to the tougher members of a group.
