I love this build, currently only 26 because of severe altitist. I didn't take the void horror mostly because I don't like control ed pets.

What do you think about Zombies in place of the void horror? I've never tried them together with shadows - not sure you can actually.
My character Revenant is almost this build - but not optimized (ie I've just been n00bing through it), and thematically, zombies would be a good fit for him.

I'm using this build as well for Lord Jerec currently 30th level and it has the summoned uncontrolled shadows, that work really well with the void horror, visually anyway, I have the zombies on my pet class and I find I'm not really liking them mainly because they take a few to get out of the ground to attack. I would really prefer all of the pets to be "summon and forget" but thats because I don't like re summoning them every few seconds. Other then that I too enjoy this build and don't find it too difficult to play even if this is not a "leveling" build.

You can change the Void Horror out for the zombies if you want. You can have both the zombies and the shadows out at the same time.

When you say it is not a leveling build, do you mean that you won't be able to level it soloing quests or that it simply needs to be retconned at 11 to replace the skills and then you're good to go.
Also I am curious how well this build performs solo, could it take on elite instances?

There are videos on my youtube account showing this. Added stat sheet to original post.

Okay, been leveling this build, slowly, and just hit 23. I wanted to switch out the Void Horror with something else, was thinking maybe one of the Rituals, Arcane or Ebon, or a Tier 3 summon.
Question is, can the summon be switch with say a level 35 power? Since Darkness Transfusion, Ebon Ruin, Unbreakable and Resurgence can be taken at 23 as well. Answered my own question, Tier 3 can be taken at 26, no change to anything that I can see.
Also been hearing some bad things about the sorcery type summons, they really that bad?

The sorcery summons are just fine. No idea who has something bad to say about them.

If you wanted to avoid a larger retcon, you might be able to get up to level 11 by taking grasping shadows at 1, then the shield at 11. Then you just have to get up to 8 with only grasping shadows and your energy builder, which might be a bit difficult, but not really. I find that heading over to Canada gets you up to 9 really fast and fairly easy.
Then at 8, you have life drain, which isn't great dps, but it's an attack without a cooldown. This should work pretty much the same as reconning at 11.

I have a Void and this is really handy to compare and contrast with. Very interesting read.

I just love this build! However, I'm not too fond of the Void Horror. How is March Of The Dead or Ritual Of Ebon Summoning in comparison?

Don't really like March of the Dead, too slow. Ebon is pretty nice save for the limitation of the magic circle, waiting till 26 to try out the Tier 3 summons.
